As Chief Operating Officer at AEM, Chua Tat Ming (TM) integrates Engineering and Operations to drive innovation and operational excellence throughout the organization. TM’s leadership ensures seamless collaboration between these critical functions, enabling AEM to deliver high-quality, consistent, and repeatable technological solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.

With nearly 35 years of experience in Engineering and Operations, TM has an exceptional track record of managing product life cycles and driving process efficiencies. His tenure as Senior Vice President of Engineering at AEM was marked by strategic advancements in product design, testing, and New Product Introduction (NPI). He spearheaded the development of two flagship test solutions—Burn-in Test Solution and System Level Test Solution—significantly enhancing AEM’s capabilities in high-consistency, high-reliability manufacturing.

Since taking on the integrated engineering and operations leadership role, TM has been instrumental in achieving key milestones. As COO, he spearheads initiatives integrating engineering innovation with operational excellence. By embedding quality-driven methodologies into the design process, optimizing product development through advanced simulation tools, and implementing data-driven decision-making practices, TM has strengthened the company’s ability to innovate with precision and efficiency. TM has also enhanced the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, enabling faster transitions from prototypes to high-volume manufacturing while improving cost management and inventory accuracy to support AEM’s profitability and operational reliability.

Before joining AEM in 2017, TM served as R&D Vice President at Hi-P International, where he led Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) initiatives, advancing the development of wireless smart products. His four years in Shanghai and subsequent leadership roles in Singapore positioned him as a global innovator. TM also spent 18 years at Motorola Electronics, rising to Engineering Director and earning recognition as one of the top 1.5% global engineers inducted into Motorola’s Sciences Advisory Board Associate for his impactful contributions. He holds a US patent in key actuation mechanisms for handheld products, reflecting his deep expertise in cutting-edge engineering.

TM is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Six Sigma Green Belt holder. He strongly believes in fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration. He encourages his teams to embrace diverse perspectives, driving the innovation needed to support AEM’s mission of creating A Zero Failure World.
